Inktober #2 - Marker Chaos: Silver

                I'm already way behind on drawing all-ink art for this month, but I'm still planning to work on some here and there. Here's number two!  This time I decided to try my hand at working with markers.  I've always admired how artists can create amazing pieces of work coloring with markers.  They pull off shading and effects so well that it practically looks like digital art. Some of it seems so far out of my league.

                I haven't touched markers for coloring artwork in...probably 5 years or so.  Not kidding!  I've never been very good with them.  The last time I attempted to color with them, it looked sloppy and was messing up the paper, so I never touched them since until now.   I figured that since I've advanced in my skills artistically in the last several years, it wouldn't hurt to try using them again.

                I don't have any fancy brand-name markers because I was too afraid to buy any. The range of shades I have are limited for that reason (I seriously need skin toned ones @_@), so I tried to work with what I have.  The result of this turned out pretty well, though!  Definitely better than anything I've ever done with markers before.  I used some dried-out ones for the color of Silver's fur and aura, haha.  Hey, they worked for it well enough.   The end result makes it look a lot like the stuff I do with colored pencils, but it's all marker and ink pens.  Now that I know I can sort of handle coloring with them, maybe I will invest in some Copics sometime to try.
