The Carefree Hedgehog!

     Because who doesn't like to see Sonic showing off break-dancing moves and handstand tricks mid-battle to taunt his opponents? Somebody must have scored an S ranking. XD

     Told you I was still working on fanart of official characters. Actually, I drew this back in September '14 and have been meaning to do something with it. It was originally going to be the third piece of the Triple S Hedgehogs mixing digital coloring with pencil shading (Hedgehog of the Future, Hedgehog of the Past). Finally I decided that I'd rather just ink it and fully render it digitally. This was interesting for posing practice and lighting. Sonic's proportions seem to look really messed up when I flip the picture upside-down...er...put Sonic rightside-up. His head looks out of place from his body and his hand looks weird, too. But I guess that's natural since he's supposed to be upside-down? xD Either way, it seems to look fine when it's viewed the way it's supposed to be, pfff.

     I've missed working on something of just Sonic himself. It's relaxing and fun to work on pictures of characters just doing their thing and looking cool while doing so. Sonic especially because of his positive and carefree nature....and because he's my favorite. Drawing Sonic just being himself amuses me.

     I wasn't sure about adding in a shadow or the abstract shape behind Sonic and was considering not having anything in the background. What do you think?
